pockets of glory

WHO IS THIS BLOG FOR?
If you are searching for hope, needing encouragement, or seeking connection. If you are curious to hear how God is changing lives in different parts of our world.
And if you want to discover the joy of remembering.
THE HEART BEHIND IT ALL
The reason why I created this blog is simple: To give a deeper understanding of the heart of God and his love through sharing the beautiful things that the Lord is doing to encourage others and reveal His glory.

WHO AM I?
My name is Emma.
To paint a picture of me,
I’m the kind of person that lights up at the sight of a forgotten Christmas tree tucked in a corner; the type who will dance anywhere-music or not- and one whose favorite memories are when I brought laughter to a friend.
To sum it up, I’m the drink that always comes with a fun little umbrella on top.
Still, most of all, I’m a daughter of a loving king. He’s the reason why this blog exists. Jesus opened up a whole different life for me; filling me with joy and peace in a way that I never thought could be possible.
I’m also a writer. So what better way to share how His character and love has shaped my daily interactions than to write about it? As well as the specific occasions where he has especially shown up in my life and others!
WHAT IS YWAM?
YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission. It’s an awesome christian organization that’s main heart is to help others know God and make God known. I’m joining their discipleship training School (DTS) for six months at their base in Potchestroom, South Africa. This is where the blog comes in. I’ll be making weekly updates on what I learn, see, and encounter from God.

WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO SHARE THESE STORIES?
The world is so full of noise that screams out how everything is going wrong, and darkness is winning. I used to struggle to find the light because of this. The reality though was, I just wasn’t aware of what the Lord was doing in the midst of it.
My whole perspective changed with one testimony. We can always say that the Lord is going to move in our schools, businesses, or countries, but the question is do we actually believe it? Do we believe that the God of the Universe not only CAN to change lives large-scale and small, but also DESIRES to do it? The reality is that He HAS done it, the enemy just doesn’t want you to HEAR about it.
Psalms 139 speaks about how, to God, darkness is not dark to Him, but instead the night shines like the day, with the darkness being the same as light to Him. So If we believe the truth of that scripture, we must also believe that in every dark moment, there are countless others filled with light.
This blog is about those specific moments when God showed up- where atmosphere shifted and lives were changed.
pockets of His glory.
