There are two ways to read this poem: line by line, in unity, or side by side—separate. Individually, they are two moments; combined, they become an experience.
“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.” – Psalm 63:3-4
Glory descends,
a smile that hurts from consistency,
air thick with majesty.
Hysterical laughter bursting out.
Tears flow, I weep from the weight of love.
Voices of hope.
My surroundings blend like paint swirled in water,
unifying with reverence.
Yet finally I see
praise echoed,
with perfect clarity.
Double the portion,
I am at peace and utter abandon.
An outpouring of Holy
my life is no longer from me.
The more filled I am, the hungrier I become.
